In February,?there are several opportunities to reach out to the legislature and advocate for?people with special needs. The legislature will be speaking about budget issues, as it applies to our population through AHCCCS and DES, on the following dates:
?February 12 (Tues), 1 pm ? 4 pm, AHCCCS Budget Hearing in Senate
February 13 (Wed), 1pm ? 4 pm, AHCCCS Budget Hearing in House
February 19 (Tues), 1pm ? 4 pm, DES Budget Hearing in Senate
February 20 (Wed), 1 pm ? 4 pm, DES Budget Hearing in House
?It will make a huge impact if family members are available to attend the Capitol with us and have their voices. STARS staff will be in attendance at each hearing and will be available to answer any questions you may have. It is also impactful to contact legislators and the governor through writing, phone calls, or on their website through Request to Speak at http://www.azleg.gov/ .
