Obama to Small Businesses: ?Somebody Else Made That Happen ...

During a recent campaign stop, President Obama criticized small business owners saying, ?If you?ve got a business, you didn?t build that. Somebody else made that happen ? The point is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.?

Are small business owners given too much credit for what they actually do? Las Vegas small business owner Debbi Somers, who voted for Barack Obama in 2008, joined Fox and Friends to discuss why she won?t be supporting the president this time around.

While Somers knows that small business owners need the government?s support in order to achieve their dreams, she pointed out that Americans need a vibrant economy in order to be successful.

She said that Obama?s statement is not exactly true, saying, ?We all go in business because we have a dream to be successful and we see that we?ve worked for someone else and it wasn?t successful, and we know we could do it better. We work 80 hours and we live it, we breathe it, we eat it, we sleep it, and what we try to do the most, the best job, because we feel that we are the best at what we do.?

In the 2012 election, Somers has put her support behind Mitt Romney instead of her 2008 presidential choice, Barack Obama. She said, ?I believed in the promise that the economy was going to change and we needed help. Being in business for 23 years, I survived 9/11, and so I knew exactly what I was going to do ? We believed that change was going to happen, it didn?t and so what we have to do is take it in our own hands again.?

Since Mitt Romney was a business owner, she said, ?He knows what it?s like to have a limited checking account; he knows what it?s like to, you know, live within your means and try to make the business. At the same time, you have to make the business grow and your employees happy.?
